What is the investment focus of w3.ventures?

w3.ventures is a content & community-driven VC investing in Web3 startups at the (pre-) seed stage. We focus on the Web3 application layer, including tokenization, Web3 x AI, gaming, DeFi, financial services, and B2B use-cases. We have a particular interest in serial entrepreneurs with significant Web2 experience and outstanding first-time founders.

What is the investment focus of w3.wave?

w3.wave focuses on investing in liquid Web3 tokens with a hybrid approach that combines fundamental analysis with market responsiveness. Our strategy targets high-potential tokens across various sectors including layer 1 protocols, DeFi applications, infrastructure projects, and emerging Web3 platforms. The fund aims to capitalize on both long-term value accrual and shorter-term market opportunities.

How do w3.ventures and w3.wave differ from each other?

w3.ventures is our early-stage venture capital fund with a fixed term that invests in equity and tokens of Web3 startups, primarily at pre-seed and seed stages. In contrast, w3.wave is our open-ended liquid token fund that invests in already-trading crypto assets, offering greater liquidity and flexibility. While w3.ventures focuses on company building with a long investment horizon, w3.wave provides exposure to the broader Web3 market with more frequent entry and exit opportunities.

What is your typical investment size and structure?

For w3.ventures, we typically invest in pre-seed and seed rounds with equity or token investments/token warrants. Our w3.wave fund focuses on already tradable tokens with an open-ended structure that allows for monthly subscriptions and quarterly redemptions, providing flexibility while targeting venture-like returns. Both funds are structured with full regulatory clarity and tax efficiency under German law.

How do you support portfolio companies beyond capital?

We believe in being active partners, not passive investors. Through our content & community-driven approach, we help portfolio companies with strategic guidance, network access, marketing support, and technical resources. Our w3.hub in Berlin serves as a physical hub for collaboration, while our media platform amplifies their message. For token investments, we provide market insights, liquidity support, and connections to our extensive network of Web3 experts and influencers.
